Jon, I'm trying to find the start point of the RED route. Looking on other maps it looks like you have to do half of the BLUE first. Do I have to do half the BLUE first or can I ride straight to the RED. (wherever it is!)

Thanks

Hi ghostrider, I think the most common and widely known trails have been incorporated in to the new runs. There was one section where you come out of (what used to be) the Labyrinth, which has been closed off for a couple of months because of nesting birds, which is fair enough. But apart from that, everything other than the more obscure routes are all there. You just have to ride it now in one direction.

Generally, I think it's a great improvement, especially for those who don't know Swinley too well. I came in today from Crowthorne along the Devils Highway, and started off with The Seagull (section 8 of the Red Trail), and followed the red route from there. Great morning out.

I'm going to try and get out a few times after work this week.

So for those of us who STILL haven't managed to get down to Swinley, which of the "old" trails are still either in use or incorporated into the "new" trails?

Cheers

Hi there. I liked it at Bedgebury and would visit a lot more often if it was a bit closer for me. I'll definitely get back there once the work is done though. I think the facilities there are great. I've been there a few times now, mainly when we've been camping nearby.

Thanks for the url for your blog. I'll stick it on the links page if you like. Be good to get a bit of a network of riders and riding locations.

Hello, just found your blog while idly surfing. Bedgebury is my local trail centre, but I have been over to Swinley once and was thinking of going again, but I see things have changed over your way...

Around £60k is being spent on bedgebury this summer I believe and I think (given that the work that's been done there over the past 12 months or so has been mostly excellent) that by the end of the Summer, Bedgebury will be a much more interesting place to visit with your bike.

It'll still be muddy though and Friston forest will still be better...
